Exterior Envelope Study
The main building of the Parachute Tower Readiness Center building is constructed of brick masonry veneer over a concrete masonry unit (CMU) back-up wall. The building incorporates a four-story tower which was originally used to maintain the parachutes used in training exercises. The tower is constructed of brick masonry veneer over a CMU backup wall and is divided into two separate shafts on the interior. The tower is reportedly no longer used for parachute maintenance and is currently used for the storage of miscellaneous materials. Gale provided a report summarizing the current conditions of the tower, results of field testing, opinion on probable cause of moisture infiltration, options for repair, and an estimated cost of repair options.
