The Lowell Memorial Auditorium is a historic 2,800-seat theater, built in 1922, consists of a combination of cast-in-place concrete, steel, and wood framed structure with mass masonry exterior walls, punched window openings, and a low-slope EPDM roof system. Due to moisture infiltration and the aging building systems, the City of Lowell engaged Gale to perform a facility condition assessment of the building’s enclosure, structural, mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems, including a review of the adjoining parking areas, sidewalks, and ramps as part of a Massachusetts Architectural Access Board review.
