Structural Evaluation and Reinforcement Design for Roof, Mechanical Units, Photovoltaic Panel Replacement
Gale conducted a structural engineering evaluation of the existing roof framing to accommodate the replacement of 31 pieces of rooftop mechanical equipment at the Boston Water & Sewer Commission’s headquarters building at 980 Harrison Avenue. The roof structure assessment identified isolated structural framing members that required structural augmentation prior to the replacement of the rooftop equipment. Gale designed the structural augmentation to reinforce the roof structure including the removal and replacement of the existing roof system and photovoltaic (PV) array.
