Roof Evaluation
The iconic Christmas Tree Shops’ thatched roof was reaching the end of its service life and experiencing water infiltration. The single-story, wood-framed structure was constructed circa 1986. The existing 23,000 square foot roof assembly consists of a thatched roof, comprised of reeds and straw installed over cross battens installed over an asphalt shingle roof, base insulation, and a tongue and groove wood deck supported by exposed mass timber framing. Gale was retained to evaluate the roof assembly for future repair and replacement options.
