Mara studied sustainability in college and found that a lot of energy conservation can start at the built environment. She found Building Enclosure Commissioning through research and has been working in this field for almost five years. Building enclosures focuses on the separation of exterior and interior spaces, controlling how a building uses energy and ultimately, helping to save and maintain energy through thermal, waterproofing, and air barrier continuity.
What is your favorite part of your job?
I love to be out on site, watching a building go up piece by piece. I also get to do forensic testing, which can be a useful problem-solving tool in the field.
