Historic Athletic Facilities Redevelopment
Gale provided athletic planning and design services for redevelopment of Dartmouth College’s historic athletic facilities—Memorial Field, Red Rolfe Baseball Field, and Softball Park. Memorial Field, home to the Big Green football and track teams was completely redeveloped including a new synthetic turf football field, and a new natural turf throwing area (hammer, discus, and javelin) and a 400-meter, urethane running track. Improvements to Red Rolfe Baseball Field included a new synthetic turf field and a new grandstand and press box. Gale developed various of layout options for the space-constrained facilities based on feedback from multiple departments. The redesign included the electric and communication infrastructure to support track and football operations, erosion/sedimentation control, stormwater management, and to meet all environmental permitting requirements.
