Site Engineering and Permitting
Gale worked with the Massachusetts Army National Guard and the Division of Capital Asset Management and Maintenance (DCAMM) to design, bid and build a new state-of-the-art Readiness Center. The design added 5.5± acres of impervious area to the site that abuts Lake Cochituate and lies within a Zone II aquifer district; the challenge was to mitigate peak runoff rates while maintaining natural vegetation and respecting the sensitive environmental features. Additional design aspects include site layout for Anti-Terrorism Force Protection, 300 parking spaces, site lighting, site landscaping and complete utility infrastructure design The Readiness Center was Certified LEED® Silver.
