Roof Replacement and Associated Work
The 5th Regiment Armory, a National Guard Armory, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. This building is often referred to as “The Castle” due to its immense size and fortress-style construction. Gale completed an evaluation and design for the replacement of the existing roof systems, which included approximately 43,000 sf of low-slope and approximately 66,000 square feet of steep-slope roofing. The new roof system consisted of a thermoplastic (TPO) membrane over new insulation assemblies to achieve a minimum R-30. The project also included the replacement of several ridge skylights with wired glass, and replacement/refurbishment of copper assemblies.
