Derick has over 24 years of experience in the building enclosure industry, starting in the engineering department of a cladding manufacturer, learning the concepts of thermal efficiency, sustainability, and thermal dynamic through wall assemblies, to expanding his knowledge of construction methods and the evaluation and testing of enclosure systems at Gale. As a Senior Staff Designer, he is responsible for the evaluation of building enclosures, fenestration testing, forensic leak testing, infrared thermography, and whole building air leakage testing.

What is your favorite part of your job?
From solving prematurely deteriorating building enclosure conditions to evaluating existing buildings for performance and construction industry standards, the most enjoyable part of my job is the variety of work that I get to be a part of.
