Tennis Facility and Track Reconstruction
The existing bituminous pavement tennis courts were in poor condition and experiencing significant cracking and planarity and draining issues, as well as inadequate lighting. The courts were not handicap accessible. The track was also experiencing cracking and planarity issues and a large portion of the surfacing had deteriorated. Gale provided civil and structural engineering services for the design-build of eight post-tension concrete tennis courts, new lighting, fencing, drainage improvements, accessible walkways, and aesthetic improvements. Specified track pavement milling and leveling surface requirements, as well as details for newly installed trench drains and track surfacing. The Springfield College track won the ASBA Outstanding Outdoor Tennis Facility of the Year Award.
