Gale conducted an obstruction analysis for the Runway 8 and Runway 14 approaches, which identified multiple penetrations into the Airport’s protected airspace. Most of these obstructions were located on off-airport properties where easements had not been secured.
Gale subsequently assisted the Airport in acquiring the necessary easements to facilitate tree clearing operations. The team identified and designed the required clearing limits, coordinated with the local Conservation Commission and the Massachusetts Division of Fisheries and Wildlife to obtain the appropriate permits, and supported the City of Pittsfield in managing the bidding process.
